At Rest

Less-than-lethal force
Jackson was apprehended at a small-town nightclub after he'd reportedly slapped the mother of his child. He resisted arrest. People on the scene said three officers slammed him to the ground and used a baton around his neck to subdue him. The police were turned away from two jails--one was full, the other would not accept a prisoner in this condition--and Jackson died in the hospital. An autopsy named the cause as a crushed larynx.
