Herbert Dennis Babelay

Deadly force

Officers were dispatched to Herbert Babelay's home after receiving a report of a suicidal man. Babelay appeared on the street on a motorcycle after they arrived, and retreated to the shed at the rear of the house. When he emerged from the shed armed with a shotgun and pointed it at them, he told police to get off his property. They told him to put his shotgun down. Babelay said they'd have to shoot him so they did.
