Police responding to a domestic disturbance encountered an armed Hector Leija at the front door of a home. Leija's wife and daughter had previously barricaded themselves in the bathroom. Leija made growling noises and pointed his gun at police. Multiple officers fired, hitting Leija 21 times and killing him. Leija's gun was unloaded.
