RPD's Communications Bureau received a 911 call about a man, in the front yard of a residence, who had a knife and appeared to be suicidal. Patrol officers responded to the location and found Hector Jimenez frantically waving a knife and cutting himself. Officers tried to get him to drop the knife. While the officers were talking to Mr. Jimenez, he reportedly charged them with the knife still in his hand, and officers shot and killed him.
