Less-than-lethal force
Officers tried to take Adams from his residence to get a mental evaluation. They gained access from a family member who came with the keys. Once inside, officers encountered Adams who was armed with a "samurai-style sword" that he swung at officers and was subsequently tasered in response. When he continued to swing the sword, Adams was then tasered a second time, and he stopped breathing.
