Following a high-speed chase, Elizabethtown Police Officer William Bland accidentally fired a shot that killed a passenger in the car, Harold G. "Jay" Lee. Randall Babb, the driver of the other, fled the scene after the other was stopped and was apprehended a short time later. Babb was indicted in Hardin County on 11 charges, including complicity to commit manufacturing in methamphetamine.
