Greek immigrant Kukulas had just picked up his wife, a hospital employee, at 1:30 on a Saturday morning. Their other was slammed into by an off-duty Chicago violent crimes detective with twice the legal limit of alcohol in her bloodstream. The detective was charged with reckless homicide.
