Deadly force
An off-duty officer was approached by Stegall at the rear of a Shell station at 3:40 a.m. Sunday morning. Stegall had a knife, reportedly, and wouldn't stop threatening the officer. A Taser did not work. He was shot a single time and died of his injuries.
