After a five-hour standoff at the Super 8 Hotel, Greg Simmons, of Summerhill, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head inside a bathroom in one of the hotel's rooms. Simmons had threatened to shoot anyone who tried to take him into custody for what began as a stolen firearm investigation.
