Deadly force

Thompson was shot and killed by Lebanon police following a pursuit along Carthage Highway just outside the city limits.Investigators said as two officers exited their vehicles and approached Thompson, one of the officers slipped and fell, causing his weapon to fire. Thinking the gunshot came from the suspect, the second officer fired his weapon at Thompson.
