Deputies took off after motorcyclist Abney when they observed him passing in a double-yellow-line zone. In several ways Abney eluded and evaded two different deputies chasing him and led them on a fairly short pursuit, ending with one of the county vehicles accidentally striking his motorcycle and killing him.
