At 2 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning Madrid, from Colorado Springs, tried to get away from a traffic stop in a 1991 Buick. With police in pursuit he went full speed down a dead-end street, hit the embankment of a canal (because his headlights were off), and sustained fatal injuries.
