Suicide
Gary Cauley learned that his estranged wife was taking their daughter to the beach with another man, so Cauley took his daughter hostage and barricaded inside his house for more than 24 hours as a SWAT team negotiated with him. After releasing his daughter to police, Cauley walked outside, put the handgun in his mouth and pulled the trigger, killing himself.
