Suicide
A deputy arrived at a house around 2:30 p.m. to serve an eviction notice on Frederick Witmer Rice. A 911 operator told the deputy that Rice called saying that if he saw an officer, he would shoot himself. The deputy heard a loud pop, and retreated. After trying to contact Rice for several hours, deputies entered his home at 5:30 p.m. and found him dead.
