About 2:25 p.m., officers received reports of a man armed with what reportedly appeared to be a Beretta handgun, police said. The man failed to comply with police orders to drop the gun as he walked through a shopping area. As he approached a high school as students were being released at the end of the school day he allegedly brandished the gun and was shot by police. The gun turned out to be an Airsoft replica.
