At Rest

Deadly force
A sheriff's narcotics team was serving a narcotics-related search warrant based on information from an informant seeking revenge against Eugene Mallory, 80. Deputies claimed they approached the rear bedroom where they found Eugene Mallory armed with a semi-automatic handgun. He pointed the handgun at the deputies and a deputy shot and killed him. But Los Angeles County settled a wrongful death lawsuit for $1.5 million that claimed Mallory was unarmed and asleep when the deputy shot and killed him.
This record exists so that Eugene Mallory, and all who are named in this archive, are never reduced to a number.
