Former college and pro football player Blackwell erupted into a rage for unknown reasons, threatening and assaulting his step-daughter and local officers sent to try to control him. After ten minutes of a physical struggle including Tasers and sedatives Blackwell was contained and sent to the hospital where he was dead on arrival.
