Police chased Luis Colon who was driving a van at high speeds, while he allegedly ignored lane markings and traffic devices through the Town of Newburgh around 1:30 a.m. until the van crashed, killing one of the passengers, Eric Ocasio-Grannell, and hospitalizing Colon and a second passenger. About 10 minutes before the crash, officers were dispatched to a call of a burglary in progress at Big Boyz Toys, a dealership that sells ATVs, dirt bikes and other motorsports vehicles.
