An officer conducted a traffic stop on a black Pontiac Aztec that had been speeding. The driver, Parenzan, told the officer that he had marijuana in the car and that he needed an ambulance. The officer called for help and handcuffed Parenzan. Parenzan began vomiting chunks of what a news report described only as an "illegal drug." Dallas Fire-Rescue sent Parenzan to Baylor Medical Center, where he died.
