Elisha Clark was killed when her car was struck by a Mazda fleeing police. Police had pursued Donald Mischke, 54, after he allegedly used his car to break into a Target and steal a flat-screen television. Police claimed the officers had called off the chase by the time Mischke ran a red light and struck Clark's Buick Century. Police said an off-duty officer was at the intersection of Belvidere and Green Bay roads and called the crash into dispatch. Clark was pronounced dead at the scene at around 3:30 a.m.
