Police responded to 911 calls reporting a shooting and a house fire. Deputies found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. As deputies tended to the victim and investigated the house fire, a person began shooting at them. Deputies and first responders hid. Once the fire subsided, deputies sifted through burned debris finding Elijah Smith dead on the second story of the home. It was not reported whether deputies shot at Smith.
