At 1:50 a.m., a Pinellas deputy pulled over a car for a traffic stop. The driver, Elijah Johnson, stopped, but then took off. Johnson abandoned his car. He allegedly shot a police dog and then fired shots at a deputy. The dog and deputy recovered. Johnson was found dead with what a reportedly self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
