DEA agents and other jurisdictions had Dewgard under surveillance while he left for work, then (reportedly) picked up $250K of cocaine. An attempt to pull him over for apprehension failed. He fled, rammed a police other, then continued on foot. Unarmed, he was fatally shot once in the back.
