Epperson was allegedly intoxicated and running through the streets when police attempted to detain him. Epperson and police struggled for some time before Epperson suffered a fatal heart attack. In a YouTube video, Epperson appears to struggle with police for some 20 seconds before his body goes limp. Nearly seven minutes pass before police begin to administer CPR. Epperson's family filed a lawsuit against the involved officers, which was later dismissed.
