Deadly force
Dimas Diaz Jr. was shot and killed by police after a pursuit, followed by a standoff on the 101 Freeway. Diaz was wanted in connection with an alleged spousal assault when deputies and troopers pursued him until he crashed on the 101 Freeway. After an hour-long standoff, Diaz ultimately exited his disabled car, brandished a small black piece of car molding, and advanced upon officers. He was shot and killed by a Ventura County deputy and a CHP officer.
