At approximately 5:40 a.m., officers were dispatched on a disturbance with an ambulance. Diamond Ross was involved in the disturbance and was believed to be under the influence of an unknown substance. She allegedly was combative with officers and was arrested. Emergency personnel cleared her for transport to the City Detention Center to be booked in for city warrants. Before officers left the city detention center, Ross had a medical emergency and died. One of the officers who took her into custody was reprimanded for not taking Ross to the hospital first. The family has filed a lawsuit.
