High on PCP, Birdow crashed into a Baptist church and fatally beat Rev. Danny Kirk Sr. with an electric guitar. Officers shot Birdow with a stun gun and subdued him. Birdow died in a patrol car of an overdose. Birdow's wife said that he was mentally ill and sought treatment days earlier.
