Less-than-lethal force

In the parking lot of a shopping center local police encountered Haithcock, acting strangely, having just shoplifted a bottle. An attempt to arrest him developed into Haithcock going for an officer's gun, then a number of police physically restraining him. A witness didn't see "anything over excessive" in the police behavior. Haithcock had some kind of seizure and died at the scene.
