Deadly force
A Department of Public Safety trooper tried to stop a 2015 Nissan Maxima for a traffic violation on U.S. 82 in Fannin County. The male driver did not stop. The man continued west on U.S. 82. and avoided tire deflation tools. Police said they learned the Maxima had been reported stolen. He swerved and crashed into a trooper's patrol car. The man then allegedly drove in the general direction of a Bonham police officer. The trooper shot and killed him. Police alleged vehicular assault.
