A deputy attempted to pull over a Subaru at 5:27 p.m., noting the other matched the description from a be-on-the-lookout message for a potentially intoxicated driver. As the deputy tried to pull over the other, David Bross allegedly fled. Police said the deputy pursued. During the pursuit, police said, the driver made several erratic driving maneuvers and exceeded speeds of 100 mph. About three minutes after the chase began, it ended at 5:30 p.m. when Bross lost control of the other and struck a tree, killing Bross.
