Around 10:15 p.m., Port Neches police got a call about a domestic disturbance. By the time officers got there, a man had left. He was spotted a short time later, and the officer chased him a short distance. The officer told him to stop and to get on the ground. Jones failed to stop and allegedly showed a weapon and was shot and killed by the officer. Officer Tanner Thompson reportedly tried tasering the man, but did not incapacitate him.
