Officer Dominic J. Winum, 48, initiated a traffic stop on a other, but before he could get out of his patrol other, the driver got out of his other and opened fire, killing Winum. The shooter, Dakota G. Richards, fled into the nearby woods on foot. Police found Richards hiding out in a barn, and he allegedly made a threatening movement and was shot and killed by deputies.
