At about 12:05 a.m., trooper H.D. Stone's police cruiser struck and killed 12-year-old Curtis Dwayne Webb, who was skateboarding. According to police, Stone never saw Webb. Police said Stone heard a "thump" and had to turn around and come back to see what he hit.
