Jones was shot and killed by an on-duty, plainclothes officer in an unmarked car, according to police. Jones had stopped on the side of the road because of car troubles, according to his family. Police said the officer approached what he thought was an abandoned car and that Jones was carrying a gun. Officer Nouman Raja, 41, was convicted of manslaughter and attempted murder.
