Detroit officers reportedly were responding to a request for backup at 1 a.m. The other had its lights and sirens on and was traveling east in a marked Ford Explorer. The Explorer collided with a Lexus IS 250 that was being driven by Cliff Woodards, killing him. Detroit police officer Teaira Funderburg, 29, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and willful neglect of duty.
