Crowe's sister initially called police and told them that her brother was acting suicidal, and was threatening to shoot anyone who came into his house. Arriving officers found Crowe, who was bipolar, hiding under a bed and began shooting toward the officers, leading them to exchange gunfire at fatally hit Crowe.
