Troopers said they were contacted by Carter County 911 just before 11:30 p.m., with a report of a fight between a woman and a family member. When police arrived, the woman had fled. At about 1:30 am., troopers said the possibly-armed woman returned to the residence. Police returned to the home, and shot and killed Clair Jewell during a confrontation.
