Suicide

At approximately noon, officers were dispatched to an apartment complex for a family disturbance involving a gun. A caller reported seeing a man with a gun, shooting into the air and pointing the gun at a woman. The woman involved also called police and reported that Christopher Ryan Vasquez was trying to kill her. Officers arrived and Vasquez barricaded himself in his apartment. He occasionally approached the window and cursed at officers while holding one and sometimes two handguns. He also pointed the guns at his own head and at one point placed one in his mouth. He reportedly said he was not going to come out peacefully, threatened suicide by cop and stated he was going to kill himself. At approximately 6:41 p.m., officers sent gas into the apartment, and Vasquez fired his handgun toward an armored other, and an officer fired one round at him. He fell away from the window and out of sight. Shortly after additional gunfire could be heard from inside the apartment. A robot camera revealed Vasquez lying dead on the floor of the apartment with a gun nearby.
