Christopher Neal, a hostage, was shot and killed during a home invasion while police waited outside. The Kalamazoo Metro SWAT team was en route when, about 45 minutes after the first calls came in, police heard gunfire coming from inside the house. Officers then entered the home, where they were able to apprehended a man. Three officers were reportedly injured.
