Passengers Christopher L. Ford and Christian M. Howard were killed when the car they were in crashed into a city water truck after fleeing from police. Officers from Mission and Westwood, Kansas said they chased a Honda Accord that had been reported stolen into Missouri at around 2:15 a.m., but stopped the pursuit at the state line. The Honda continued traveling at a high rate of speed through Kansas City, Missouri., allegedly nearly hitting an unmarked KCPD patrol car. That officer reportedly turned around to follow the Honda. Shortly after that, the Honda ran a red light and T-boned the water truck. The driver of the Honda, Casey Allen Cordell, 24, and the driver of the truck both sustained minor injuries.
