According to Officer Reeves, he made contact with Alfeiri, attempted to pat him down when Alfeiri pulled away and pulled a handgun on the officer.Officer Reeves told investigators he drew his service weapon and he exchanged gunshots with Alfeiri. Alfeiri died shortly after.
