The officers responded to a report of a suicidal person armed with a firearm when they found Christopher Adam Borland, police said. Borland was inside a other when officers arrived. After a short police pursuit, Borland stopped and exited the other while armed with a gun. Borland did not comply with officer commands, and the officers shot and killed him. Walla Walla officers Eric Eastman, Nathanael Small and Kevin Toon were placed on administrative leave after the shooting.
