Deadly force

Deputies responded around 6:52 p.m. to a call about a woman threatening to harm herself. When deputies arrived, a man came out of the home and told deputies that Chantel Myers, was threatening to harm herself with a firearm and had fired one shot inside the home. The man also gave deputies a suicide note handwritten by Myers. Deputies used a public address system to communicate with Myers. Myers remained inside for a while, making verbal threats toward the deputies, before allegedly coming out of the home with a firearm. Myers allegedly advanced toward the deputies in an aggressive manner while continuing to threaten to harm them. Myers got between the two patrol units the deputies were using for cover, then raised her weapon and pursued one of the deputies around the other. The deputy shot and killed Myers.
