Deadly force

A Fountain Inn police officer ran a tag on a car just after 10 a.m. and found that it was stolen. When the officer tried to pull the car over, Chadwick Dale Martin Jr. pulled into a space in a parking lot. The officer and Martin got out of their vehicles, and there reportedly was a confrontation and a scuffle. Martin got back in the car and allegedly tried to drive over the curb in the parking lot. Martin reportedly pulled forward, then put the car in reverse and hit a second Fountain Inn police car. Martin reportedly tried to pull away with the officer holding onto the car. The officer shot and killed Martin.
