Around 5:03 a.m. a patrol officer attempted to pull over a driver for speeding and making erratic lane changes. The officer attempted to pull over the driver, but the driver sped away, and the officer pursued. During the pursuit, the officer got close enough to identify the license plate on the Toyota Camry. The Camry had been reported stolen. Additional Sacramento police joined the pursuit. The officers reportedly lost sight of the other around 5:13 a.m. The Camry crashed into a pole, killing driver Celina Correa.
