Pleas of surviving relatives: hofran Haroun Warasna’s family, especially her cousin Yousef Warasna, has spoken out with deep grief and outrage over her killing. Yousef, who learned of her death while heading to work with his son, expressed shock, emphasizing that Ghofran was peacefully walking to her new job at Dream Radio in Hebron when she was shot by Israeli soldiers.
The family vehemently denied the Israeli military’s claim that she attempted to stab a soldier. Instead, they described Ghofran as a dedicated journalist and recent media graduate who was passionate about covering Israeli violations and helping raise the voices of the Palestinian people. Her cousin and other relatives highlighted that she posed no threat and was targeted without justification.
Her family’s pleas echoed broader Palestinian appeals for international accountability, justice, and an end to what they describe as impunity for Israeli soldiers. They called on the International Criminal Court and global human rights organizations to investigate the killing and hold Israel accountable for its repeated use of deadly force against civilians, including women and journalists.
