Deadly force
Jackson, ignoring a personal protection order, held his estranged wife and two children hostage, threatening them as well as himself. SWAT officers responded. After negotiation, Jackson jumped from the front door of the residence with a gun and shot an officer in the face. He was fatally shot in response. The officer survived.
