Suicide
At 1:17 p.m., a deputy responded to a disturbance near Andover where Casey Van Armstrong allegedly pointed a handgun at him, then fled in a Dodge pickup truck. A chase began and continued through northeastern Clinton County. Armstrong eventually stopped in DeWitt and officers surrounded the truck. According to police, Armstrong fired a handgun out the passenger window, but officers didn't return fire. At 3:31 p.m., officers reportedly heard a gunshot and found Armstrong with a self-inflicted wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
