Vicksburg Police Chief Walter Armstrong said a car driven by Carl James was traveling northbound when it veered off and crashed into the back of the police department building. The impact caused the car to catch fire. James died at the scene. Chief Armstrong said it was fortunate that nobody inside the station was injured or killed. The chief said he didn't believe foul play was involved and that a medical condition may have caused James to hit the building.
