Cameron McCarthy

Deadly force

Police were trying to arrest Cameron McCarthy on warrants. Armed with a machete, McCarthy barricaded himself in a hotel room then climbed out a window onto the hotel's sign. Police shot McCarthy with pepper balls, beanbag rounds and tasered him to no effect. McCarthy then fled to an apartment building and attempted to break into an occupied apartment. McCarthy was still brandishing the machete when an officer shot and killed him.
